As a lead engineer at Hollandia Services, you will work on iconic hydraulic engineering structures such as the Maeslantkering, the Haringvlietbrug, and the Oosterscheldekering. You will play a central role in managing the engineering team, contributing to the design, and being responsible for technical choices. When emergencies or technical issues arise, you are the one who maintains an overview and, together with the team, arrives at well-considered solutions. Lead engineer, Capelle aan den IJssel The duties of our lead engineer Your collaboration with a team of engineers forms the basis of the maintenance project, from kick-off to assembly and commissioning. You will actively contribute to the design process. You are a constant link within a multidisciplinary project team, working with the project manager, buyer, work planner, production manager, and other specialists. In this role, you are responsible for the mechanical engineering component of the maintenance project; your main task is to ensure a good and safe design. You will lead the engineering team. You will monitor progress based on an engineering schedule prepared by you. Furthermore, you are responsible for choices, quality, planning, and budget related to the design. You will perform your role partly at the office and also regularly have appointments off-site at project locations, with clients, and suppliers. To achieve this, you will be involved in the following tasks: Representing Hollandia Services in discussions with stakeholders such as the main contractor, client, design agencies, and subcontractors Responsibility for the entire design process, executed according to System Engineering, including trade-off matrices, design reviews, and project administration Implementation of requirements from laws and regulations and the contract in the design Defining and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines, including elaboration in the design Monitoring and managing the design budget (hours), with an eye for craftsmanship and innovative cost control What does Hollandia offer? You are a hands-on leader with an eye for the roles in your team. It energizes you to help colleagues further. It is important that you already have experience as an engineer in the world of steel structures. Furthermore, we expect from you: A completed HBO or WO study in mechanical engineering or civil engineering At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the infra or steel sector in a comparable role Demonstrable knowledge of production, structural engineering, 3D CAD (preferably Inventor), and workshop drawings, assessing/approving drawings/calculations from third parties Substantive knowledge of methodologies such as Systems Engineering (SE), CE Machinery Directive, and steel (construction) standards Strong in Dutch communication Who are we?
