Andersen is looking for an experienced Siemens PLC Engineer to join an international project for Primetals Technologies, a global provider of engineering, automation, and digital solutions for the metals industry.

The project focuses on automation of steel and metals production and processing lines, including rolling, processing, galvanizing, and other downstream/process lines.

Work setup 📍 Location: Europe 🕘 Working hours: standard Belgian business hours 📄 Engagement: outstaffing contract, long-term collaboration from 3 months ✈️ Travel: occasional business trips across the EU may be required 🗣 English: Intermediate+ / B1+

Responsibilities Develop and modify PLC software for steel and metals production/process lines Perform detailed engineering: PLC logic, sequences, interlocks, diagnostics, signal and I/O handling Integrate PLC systems with SCADA/HMI and Level 2 systems, including tags, signals, and handshakes Support FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and remote or on-site commissioning Maintain technical documentation: logic descriptions, I/O lists, change logs, and test scenarios

Requirements 3+ years of practical Siemens PLC engineering experience Strong hands-on experience with TIA Portal and/or Step7 Classic Experience with Siemens S7-300, S7-400, and/or S7-1500 Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages: LAD/LD, FBD, SCL/ST, SFC Practical experience with Profinet and Profibus Solid troubleshooting, FAT/SAT, startup, or commissioning background English level: B1+ or higher Availability for occasional business trips within Europe

Nice to have Experience in steel, metals, rolling mills, galvanizing, process lines, or other heavy-industry environments Experience with WinCC, SCADA/HMI, Level 2 systems, or MES integration Knowledge of drives/VFDs and industrial safety systems Experience collaborating with international engineering teams and end customers
