Founding Mobile Engineer / Mobile Lead

We are Karta.io — a FinTech (B2C, B2B) platform with high-trust virtual cards and our own crypto infrastructure. Cards are issued in seconds, work in 150+ geos, and can be topped up from any crypto wallet. We have been on the market for 3+ years, have a distributed team of 30+ people worldwide, and operate without micromanagement.
We are looking for the first Founding Mobile Engineer / Mobile Lead — a person who will take ownership of the mobile direction from scratch and grow it into a self-sufficient team.
Why it's interesting to work with us:
- Zero-to-one: there is no legacy code in the mobile application, but there is a working product in TMA. We need to migrate functionality and develop new features in parallel.
- AI First: we don't adapt AI to the process — we build the process around AI. The Mobile Lead will be a key architect of this approach in the company.
- Direct work with C-Level.
What you'll be doing:
- Select and justify the technology stack (React Native or Flutter) — your decision, you defend it.
- Migrate functionality from Telegram Mini App to a native iOS + Android application.
- Build architecture, CI/CD, and release processes.
- Hire and grow a team of 1-2 people: code reviews, onboarding, mentorship.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and CTO when launching scenarios: cards, KYC, on/off-ramp, Apple/Google Pay.
- Implement and support the AI-first development process.
What's important to us:
- 4+ years of commercial mobile development with architectural responsibility.
- Experience in fintech, crypto wallet, or neobank.
- Understanding of security in a fintech context: you know the threats to mobile fintech applications and have mitigated them at the implementation level — secure storage, biometrics, certificate pinning.
- Experience building or developing a mobile team (1-2 people → self-sufficient unit).
- Experience selecting a tech stack and defending decisions to technical management.
- AI Coding Tools in daily practice + readiness to lead these processes at the team level.
- English — written communication without barriers.
It will be a plus:
- Experience with self-custody / non-custodial wallets.
- Scaling an application to 100k+ MAU.
- Practical knowledge of PCI DSS / GDPR.
- AppsFlyer / Adjust.
