Senior Data Scientist | Berlin | Full-time

We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist based in Berlin to work on complex demand forecasting and inventory optimisation problems in grocery retail.

Location: Berlin, Germany Workload: Full-time English: C1

Tech stack: Python, SQL, GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI), Cloud Composer, Airflow, Git, CI/CD, Claude Code, Cursor

What you’ll work on: • Probabilistic and distributional demand forecasting • Inventory simulations and ordering policies under uncertainty • Model monitoring, validation and backtesting • Large, messy real-world datasets • Production-grade data science solutions

What we’re looking for: • Strong experience in demand forecasting and inventory optimisation • Operations Research / inventory simulation experience, including ordering under uncertainty and newsvendor-type problems • Experience with quantile regression, gradient-boosted models and distributional forecasting • Strong understanding of time-based validation and backtesting • Production-level Python and SQL • Ideally, an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field

Nice to have: French or German would be a big advantage.
