Senior Data Scientist (Temporary Contract)

About You

You are a Senior Data Scientist who enjoys transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights that support better business decisions. You combine strong analytical thinking with a hands-on approach to data preparation, statistical modeling, machine learning, and visualization, turning business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions.

You are comfortable working across cloud-based data environments, exploring information from multiple sources, and ensuring data accuracy and reliability throughout the analytical process. You enjoy collaborating with technical and business stakeholders, communicating complex findings clearly, and developing solutions that help organizations make informed decisions.

Note: This is a temporary, full-time opportunity from November 2 through December 31, 2026.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services for data processing and analytics.
• Advanced Python skills for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, data preparation, transformation, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards using Power BI.
• Experience developing statistical models and machine learning algorithms to generate insights and forecasts.
• Experience collecting, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality and reliability.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Native Spanish proficiency.
• B2+ English proficiency, both written and spoken.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and reliability.

• Build and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to generate insights and forecasts.

• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards to communicate insights to business leaders and stakeholders.

• Use Google Cloud Platform services to manage and optimize data pipelines and analytical solutions.

• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and transform large datasets.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Business teams to align data science solutions with organizational objectives.

• Translate business challenges into practical data science approaches and deliver actionable recommendations.

• Stay current with relevant tools and methodologies in data science, cloud analytics, and data visualization.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for data analytics.

• Advanced Python and SQL proficiency.

• Experience developing statistical and Machine Learning models.

• Strong Power BI dashboard development experience.

• Experience with data preparation, transformation, and quality validation.

• Native Spanish and B2+ English proficiency.
