What You Will Do
You will take on one of two tracks – the choice is determined during interviews.
Senior Applied ML Engineer (Product Track – models in the generation pipeline)
- NSFW classification: detection, threshold calibration, appeals, resilience to bypass.
- IP and portrait likeness classification in prompts and generated results.
- Anti-fraud: multi-account farms, free trial abuse, chargeback fraud, exploits via prompt injection.
Senior Applied ML Engineer (Data Track – models and analytics influencing product decisions)
- Churn and LTV prediction: user-level models identifying risk cohorts before they churn, and lifetime value prediction by plan and geo.
- Fraud and abuse clustering: unsupervised segmentation of account graphs, payment patterns, and generation behavior to identify new abuse vectors before rules are written for them.
- Causal analysis of product changes: uplift modeling, quasi-experiments, and A/B test design where pure randomization is not possible.
Both tracks involve end-to-end work: you formulate the problem, collect the dataset, deploy to production, and measure the monetary impact. Our release cycle is measured in days, not quarters, so you'll see your first model in production quickly.
Must-Have Requirements
- 5+ years of production experience (Must have)
- Experience deploying multiple ML systems to production under real-world load – not in notebooks.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas: computer vision / multimodality, content moderation / trust & safety, fraud or anomaly detection, recommendations, or ranking.
- Ability to formulate tasks independently. We give you a vague business question, not a labeled dataset.
- Proficient Python and PyTorch. Comfort with large-scale data infrastructure.
- Product sense: you choose precision/recall thresholds and justify them in monetary terms, not F1-score.
Who This Role is Not For
- You are more comfortable working from a ready-made technical specification than formulating tasks independently.
- You are looking for a more relaxed release cycle. We deploy weekly, and the pace of launches can be high.
Nice to Have
- Trust & Safety experience on a UGC or generative platform.
- Adversarial ML – experience combating attempts to bypass your classifier.
- Fine-tuning VLM, embedding models, or perceptual hashing.
