Java Tech Lead

📍__in a Hong Kong international payments project__

You will develop a financial platform, design banking integrations, and shape the team's engineering practices.

Responsibilities — Develop the server-side of applications in Java, participate in design, testing, deployment, and support of functionality. — Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. — Work out technical and architectural solutions, develop modular application structures, manage dependencies, technical debt, and migrations. — Implement banking and payment integrations, interact with Front-end developers to integrate server logic with the user interface. — Diagnose and fix bugs, participate in monitoring, release support, and incident analysis. — Collaborate with analysts, developers, designers, and system administrators in the implementation of new functionality. — Formulate code quality requirements, develop engineering practices and processes, conduct code reviews, decompose tasks, and support the professional development of the team.

Requirements — Commercial Back-end development experience in Java. — Deep knowledge of Java 17+, practical experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, PostgreSQL, and Maven; understanding of transactions, multithreading, and performance optimization approaches. — Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, code and project architecture, principles of modularity, dependency management, technical debt, and migrations. — Understanding of the payment domain: payments, accounts, postings, balances, fees, and refunds; knowledge of idempotency principles, reconciliation, and operation recovery. — Experience with REST API, OpenAPI, and webhooks, understanding of failure handling, access control, auditing, data protection, and testing critical scenarios. — Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD, skills in application diagnostics, monitoring, and support. — Ability to thoughtfully apply AI assistants: verify results, evaluate the correctness and security of proposed solutions, do not substitute engineering analysis with automatically generated code.
