Pinobyte · Full-time · Remote (excluding Russia)
Pinobyte is a founder-led engineering services company. We work with clients around the world and specialise in complex backend systems — from large-scale data-extraction platforms to distributed services under real production load.
This role is for working with an international iGaming platform, live in a dozen-plus markets across the globe.
You'll be working on the platform's .NET backend: 50+ services in production. It's a varied system: modern microservices next to older monolithic core modules that still carry a lot of the business logic, a GraphQL layer for the player-facing apps, an Angular back-office, and integrations with dozens of payment providers, game studios and regulators.
Tasks come to you specified: business analysts write the requirements and the tickets, you own the technical solution end to end — from design and implementation to tests, rollout and the follow-up in production.
We expect you to work AI-native.
Claude Code is paid for, and how well you use the tooling to close tasks faster and safer — without shipping what you don't understand — is part of how we'll evaluate you.
We'll go through the specifics of the roadmap on the technical call.
This is what's actually in the repositories, not a wish list:

You don't need to have used every line of this. You do need to be comfortable reading unfamiliar code and picking things up quickly.
A strong senior .NET engineer with an AI-native mindset.
Someone who takes a specified task, finds the right place for it in a system of 50+ services, ships it with tests and a migration, and closes it — reliably, week after week — and who uses AI tooling as a matter of course to do that faster and better.
AI-native mindset — essential.
Claude Code or a comparable agent is your default way of working, not something you reach for occasionally: getting into a large unfamiliar codebase fast, drafting the routine parts of a change and reviewing them critically, generating tests and migrations, digging through logs and traces during an incident. You know where the model will confidently lie to you, and you catch it. We work this way every day and we'll ask you exactly how you do it. Someone who treats the tooling as optional won't be effective here.
5+ years of production C# / .NET, the recent ones on .NET 6 and newer: EF Core, async all the way down, and the judgement to know which pattern a given service actually needs.
Distributed systems for real.
Services talking over HTTP, gRPC and Kafka; idempotency, retries, outbox, eventual consistency, and the failure modes those bring.
SQL Server depth.
Schema design, indexes, execution plans, migrations on live databases, and knowing when EF should get out of the way.
You're not afraid to debug — code you didn't write, in production, across three services and a Kafka topic, with incomplete information.
You're proactive.
When something is broken, slow or badly designed, you come with a concrete fix and trade-offs, not a status update.
You improve the system round after round.
Closing the ticket isn't the end of the job: you notice the potential problems around it — a fragile query, a missing idempotency check, a module nobody wants to touch — fix them, and step by step leave the platform in a better state than you found it.
You work well in a structured team.
Written specs from analysts, merge-request reviews, quality gates, a release process. You add to that process rather than fight it.
None of these are hard requirements, but they're useful:
Short and to the point: a short intro call, then a technical interview of about an hour and a half.
