Senior Golang Developer

Kinescope is a high-load video platform combining the functionality of a video hosting, live streaming, and communication for business. With us, businesses improve communication, increase audience engagement, store, protect, and show millions of videos daily. We manage a distributed infrastructure in multiple data centers in the Russian Federation and globally, deliver hundreds of gigabits of traffic, build new connections with telecom operators, and much more.

Mission: Making advanced video technologies accessible to businesses. Products: Professional video hosting and video player, analytics, live streaming, real-time communication. Clients: Leading media holdings, educational institutions, e-commerce, and large corporations.

Why this role We have ~70 Go services, our own distributed parallel transcoder (MPP), a lot of gRPC, PostgreSQL, NATS, ClickHouse, our own CDN. The code is written by people who understand what they are doing — and we are looking for one more such person. Tasks are varied: from designing new services to refactoring old ones. We are not afraid to discard a solution that has not justified itself in operation and rewrite it. There is also routine work — adding a method to an API, fixing a migration. You can't get by without it.

AI is not a hype, but a tool This is important, so it's a separate section. We work in Cursor. Not only for writing code — for working through tasks, system administration, incident analysis, documentation. We tried it — and we don't want to go back. For us, AI is not vibe-coding or "press a button, get code." It's a coworker to whom you delegate tasks: writing tests, analyzing logs, initial diagnostics, drafts of documentation, code review. You remain an engineer who thinks and makes decisions — but you delegate the routine. If you believe that "a real programmer writes everything themselves" — we are not on the same path. • Experience with Go in production for at least 5 years.
