About Us
DataLouna is next-generation esports analytics. We transform raw CS2 and Dota 2 data into statistics, predictions, betting lines, and B2B products.
We are part of a large esports holding, including Team Spirit and other projects. We work with top bookmakers and build solutions at the intersection of real-time data, backend, and game analytics.
The team consists of 7 people. Minimum bureaucracy, significant influence on the product and technical decisions.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a strong Backend Engineer with Node.js / TypeScript to work with a real-time data system in esports.
This role is for an engineer who can design backend and data systems around unstable sources, live data, and high-stakes errors. We don't work through detailed technical specifications but through product goals: you need to understand the domain, choose an approach, implement a solution, and bring it to production.
What You Will Be Doing
You don't need to be an expert in all areas from day one. This is the technical landscape you will be working in and taking responsibility for.
Data Collection and External Sources
- Write parsers and scrapers in Node.js / TypeScript for public websites, APIs, esports platforms, and bookmaker widgets.
- Work with Playwright, proxy infrastructure, DOM / WebSocket feeds, and bypassing restrictions where necessary.
- Integrate with game sources: Steam Game Coordinator, match demo files, live CS2 / Dota 2 data.
Data Storage and Processing
- Design PostgreSQL schemas for new sources and product features.
- Use ClickHouse for analytics and large data volumes.
- Map entities between sources: teams, players, matches, tournaments, events.
- Work with indexes, partitioning, migrations, and query optimization.
Backend, Real-time, and Pipelines
- Develop REST / GraphQL APIs for web applications, admin panels, internal services, and B2B integrations.
- Stream live match data and odds via WebSocket / SSE / GraphQL subscriptions.
- Write workers and pipelines using BullMQ / Redis / PostgreSQL: retries, deduplication, idempotency, failure handling.
AI, Integrations, and Infrastructure
- Integrate LLM API / Claude / Anthropic SDK for AI match commentary, draft analysis, and other product features.
- Write service integrations: notifications, webhooks, bridges between external systems.
- Deploy to GKE via GitLab CI + Flux CD, work with Docker / Kubernetes manifests.
Tech Stack
Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, BullMQ, Docker, Kubernetes / GKE, GitLab CI, Flux CD.
What's Important
- Strong backend foundation: data, reliability, asynchronous programming, production mindset.
- Ability to work with uncertainty: clarify goals, explore options, and deliver solutions.
- Pragmatic approach to technology: choose the right tool for the job.
- End-to-end responsibility for results: from research and architecture to production and support.
Conditions
- $3,500–5,500, depending on experience. If you have rare and highly relevant experience, we are open to discussing terms separately.
- Remote, flexible schedule.
- Small team and direct impact on the product.
- Complex backend / data tasks without corporate bureaucracy.
Selection Process
- Short call with the CTO, 15–20 minutes: introduction, experience, basic technical calibration.
- Technical interview, 1.5–2 hours: experience, system design, backend / data tasks.
- Paid trial period: working immediately on real product tasks.
