Looking for a freelance Devops for a project:
DevOps Engineer (Contract / Retainer) — AWS Infrastructure & CI/CD
Engagement: Part-time retainer, remote. Setup phase (4 weeks) followed by ongoing maintenance.
What we need delivered
- AWS infrastructure deployed by Terraform: VPC, ECS Fargate, shared ALB, CloudFront + S3, ECR, Route53, ACM, GitHub OIDC.
- Ephemeral PR preview environments: per-PR backend services on ECS Fargate behind a shared ALB (host/header routing), frontends on a single shared CloudFront distribution with hostname-derived S3 prefixing.
- GitHub Actions pipelines: create preview on PR open, update on push, destroy on close, auto-promote to staging on merge, plus orphan cleanup.
- Isolation on shared datastores: per-preview logical MySQL/Mongo databases and Redis key-prefix namespacing (existing DBs remain shared).
- Terraform remote state, secrets management (Secrets Manager / SSM), and any required AWS quota increases.
- Observability (CloudWatch logs, metrics, alarms), cost guardrails, and a documented local docker-compose environment mirroring production.
- Runbooks and knowledge transfer to the internal team.
Must-have skills
- Strong AWS experience: ECS Fargate, ALB, CloudFront, S3, Route53, ACM, IAM/OIDC, ECR, and VPC networking.
- Terraform (modules, remote state, multi-environment deployments).
- GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation.
- Docker multi-stage builds and container optimization.
- Experience building and operating ephemeral/preview environments.
- MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis operations.
- Newrelic
Nice to have
- Node.js / NestJS deployment experience.
- Cost optimization and security hardening in AWS.
- CloudFront Functions and edge routing.
Deliverables
- Working shared, staging, and ephemeral preview environments.
- Green, documented CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks.
- Knowledge transfer session(s).
