ML Engineer for Project

I have a challenging but interesting task here. I'm looking for an ML engineer for a project: it's necessary to build a face indexing and search pipeline for a product in the field of protecting user photos online.

What needs to be done:

• Build a web crawler to collect public images from the open internet
• Implement a face inference pipeline (detection / alignment / embeddings)
• Design a vector index for searching through hundreds of millions of images
• Create an API that finds matches with sources based on a photo
• Set up monitoring and re-crawling to track the appearance of new photos

Important: You choose the architecture and stack — full ownership of technical decisions.

What's important in terms of experience:

• Proficient Python + ML inference stack (PyTorch / ONNX / TensorRT or similar)
• Experience with production systems involving face recognition or image similarity
• Experience building and operating crawlers at scale
• Working with vector databases (FAISS, Milvus, Qdrant, pgvector, etc.)
• Understanding of ANN search and scaling challenges
• Basic understanding of the legal aspects (GDPR / EU AI Act, etc.)
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver results

Will be a plus:

• GPU serving (Triton, Ray Serve, etc.)
• Distributed crawling + proxies
• Cost optimization (GPU / storage)
• Open-source / portfolio
