Vacancy! DTP (Desktop Publishing) Manager at a Translation Company.
Geacom is a translation agency with extensive expertise in technical, legal, and marketing texts. We are looking for a manager who confidently handles the full project cycle: from client request to the final layout file.
What you need to do:
- Accept and process incoming requests, agree on deadlines and costs;
- Distribute tasks among layout specialists for preparing files for translation and ensure timely delivery of final materials: layout, export, format verification;
- Perform layout of multi-page documents, presentations, PDFs, and mockups for different languages;
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and deadlines, record deviations and risks;
- Interact with clients and contractors, answer questions and address objections regarding projects.
We expect you to have:
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher (fluent reading and written communication), knowledge of German is desirable but not required;
- Understanding of how CAT tools work (Trados, MemoQ, and similar);
- Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Ability to correctly convert PDF to Word for uploading into CAT programs;
- Ability to work with InDesign, Illustrator, FrameMaker, QuarkXpress, or similar for multilingual layout;
- Ability to work with CAD programs;
- Understanding of the full translation project cycle: from estimation and cost calculation to final file delivery;
- Experience in a translation agency or localization will be an advantage;
- Attention to detail, systematic approach, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
