We are looking for an IT leader who will take responsibility for the development of the cross-border payments and transfers engineering stream in the mobile application. The scope of responsibility includes several engineering teams with a total of up to 50 people, responsible for user CJM, backend orchestration, integrations with the payment platform, and processing.
The role involves end-to-end ownership of the payment flow: from the client scenario in the mobile application to transaction execution, status retrieval, error handling, reconciliation, observability, and operational support. A separate focus is on improving team maturity, reliability, and quality of solutions, technological contribution to the new payments and transfers platform, scaling AI tools within teams, and transitioning to agentic flow.
∙ Define and execute the technical strategy for the cross-border payments and transfers stream ∙ Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of client scenarios in the mobile application ∙ Ensure the quality, reliability, security, and observability of payment solutions ∙ Execute the product roadmap in collaboration with product, platform, processing, compliance, antifraud, and operations ∙ Manage multiple development teams ∙ Hire, launch, and scale teams, foster engineering culture ∙ Develop the domain tech stack: mobile, backend, orchestration, integrations, statuses, errors, retries, reconciliation ∙ Leverage the capabilities of the payment platform and processing, and formulate requirements for their development ∙ Contribute to common platform components: API contracts, reusable services, observability, routing, error taxonomy, self-service tools ∙ Optimize production processes: planning, release management, incident management, architecture review, quality gates ∙ Implement AI tools in development, testing, code review, incident analysis, documentation, and support ∙ Manage the IT budget, resource planning, and technological investments of the stream
∙ Strong technical background: backend development, architecture ∙ Experience managing engineering teams of 20+ people; preferably 40-50+ ∙ Experience implementing disruptive technologies from idea to scaling ∙ Experience managing through leaders: delivery managers, architects, tech leads ∙ Experience building, launching, and scaling engineering teams ∙ Good understanding of backend development, high-load transactional systems, and integration architectures ∙ Experience in fintech, payments, banking, processing, or other critical transactional domains ∙ Understanding of mobile user scenarios and the impact of engineering solutions on CJM ∙ Experience building complex integrations within the company and with external partners ∙ Architectural design and technical strategy formulation skills ∙ Understanding of reliability, observability, incident management, SLA/SLO, security, and compliance context ∙ Interest and practical experience in implementing AI/ML/LLM tools in engineering processes
