MDiet is a healthtech startup for the US market. Our AI platform helps reduce patient hospital readmissions. Job Description: -Languages and frameworks: Java 21 / Spring Boot/Golang (main backend), Python / FastAPI (AI/ML services) -Architecture: modular monolith / microservices, event-driven (Kafka / RabbitMQ) AI/ML: LLM, AI agents, RAG, self-hosted inference (vLLM) -Data: PostgreSQL, pgvector (vector search for RAG), Redis (cache / queues), graph DB (Neo4j / Amazon Neptune) — for interaction graph API and integrations: REST, API Gateway, medical standards FHIR / HL7, gRPC -Infrastructure / DevOps: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab (repositories + CI/CD), Terraform (IaC) -Observability: monitoring and logging (Prometheus / Grafana, CloudWatch) -Security / authorization: OAuth2 / OIDC, secrets management, data encryption (under HIPAA / SOC 2)

Who we are looking for: -Strong system design: services, APIs, integrations, databases, cloud (AWS is a plus). -Readiness to be hands-on on the platform part (not just diagrams, but code). -Understand AI/LLM at the architectural level — how to integrate AI agents and inference into the system (deep ML experience is NOT required). -Independence, ownership, and comfort with startup uncertainty. -English — reading documentation and communicating with US partners. -Higher education in Information Technology / System Analysis / Applied Mathematics / Engineering Would be a plus:

• Architectural experience with AI/LLM systems (agents, RAG, self-hosted inference / vLLM).
• Understanding of distributed systems (scaling, consistency, fault tolerance) and experience with graph databases.
• Startup experience or a founding / lead engineer role.
• Understanding of security and compliance (HIPAA / SOC 2 or equivalent).

Official employment under the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan Work from the office in Astana; after 7–8 months — hybrid / remote. $3000–$4000 + options / company share (negotiable). As the company grows, key employees will be relocated to the USA with assistance in obtaining work visas.
