REMOTE RUSSIA | YUMOS
YUMOS JSC
Geometry / Engineering Visualization Engineer
Format: full-time, remote
Level: Middle / strong Middle
Salary Range: 250–300 thousand ₽
Work experience: more than 3 years
About the company:
We at YUMOS JSC develop and promote Russian innovative CAE software «WeRTSim» (Computer-Aided Engineering Welding and Related Technologies Simulation) on the domestic and international markets – a web platform for digital twins of welding and related technologies for solving various engineering problems: rapid calculations and analysis based on mathematical modeling of physical processes and their computer simulation.
About the product:
The main purpose of CAE WeRTSim is to create a unified software environment that combines various simulation models of technological high-temperature processes and computational experiment management mechanisms into a simple and convenient engineering analysis tool with an intuitive interface.
The platform provides integration of simulation models and computational experiment management mechanisms with external information systems (CAD, CAE, MES, FEM, etc.) via API, creating more accurate tools for designers, mechanical engineers, and technologists.
Application areas: technological preparation of production, engineer training, automation and robotization of technological process control, design and development of innovative welding equipment, adaptation and optimization of existing projects, technical re-equipment of production.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a developer with experience in creating interactive 2D/3D visualization for technical, engineering, or other data-driven systems.
The main focus of the position is working with geometry, spatial data, and their interactive graphical representation in the browser.
What you will be doing:
- developing and advancing interactive 2D/3D visualization;
- developing technical editors and viewers;
- working with Canvas, WebGL, and Three.js;
- representing geometric and numerical data;
- working with coordinate systems, transformations, projections, and spatial interaction;
- implementing selection, picking, and manipulation of objects;
- visualizing matrices, slices, and volumetric data;
- developing models for representing geometric objects and reusable graphics components;
- optimizing rendering and handling large volumes of data;
- participating in the integration of external CAD/3D data.
What will help you:
- higher mathematical or technical education;
- experience in designing and developing UI/UX for multi-user, high-load applications;
- teamwork experience.
Mandatory skills:
- confident JavaScript / TypeScript;
- practical experience with Canvas;
- practical experience with Three.js or comparable production experience with WebGL-based 3D;
- understanding of 2D/3D graphics principles:
- coordinate systems;
- geometric transformations;
- cameras and projections;
- world / local / screen spaces;
- selection / picking;
- experience in converting structured or numerical data into an interactive visual representation;
- sufficient algorithmic and mathematical foundation for working with spatial tasks;
- ability to independently analyze a task, define the data model, constraints, and invariants before choosing a specific implementation technology.
Mandatory experience:
- Real commercial or comparable production experience in developing interactive graphics is required.
- Experience in systems where the correctness of data, geometry, and spatial transformations is part of the task is especially important, for example:
- technical editors / viewers;
- engineering or scientific visualization;
- GIS and cartographic systems;
- simulation / modeling;
- industrial visualization;
- BIM / CAD-like systems;
- digital twins;
- medical or other complex spatial/data-driven interfaces.
- Experience with Canvas and Three.js/WebGL must be confirmed by implemented tasks, not just present in the technology list.
Will be a plus:
- CAD / CAE;
- GIS / BIM / digital twin;
- scientific or industrial software;
- working with glTF, OBJ, STL, and other 3D formats;
- React / React Three Fiber;
- PixiJS, Konva, Babylon.js, and other graphics libraries;
- GLSL / shaders;
- profiling and optimization of large scenes;
- experience with mesh/topology, units, faces/edges/bodies, and conversion of various geometry representations.
What is especially important
When evaluating a candidate, the primary weight is given not to the number of years of experience or the length of the technology stack, but to the content of previous tasks.
A developer is preferred who, when working on a new technical task, is first able to figure out:
- what data exists;
- what it means;
- what connections exist between them;
- what constraints and invariants need to be preserved;
- what representation is required to obtain;
and only then chooses the library and implementation method.
Conditions:
- official employment, compliance with labor legislation norms;
- work mode - full remote;
- flexible schedule;
- salary level is discussed with the successful candidate.
Key skills:
JavaScript / TypeScript
