Senior Kotlin Developer for the Atlas Team

We, the Atlas team, are part of the 2GIS Data Service division and focus on 2 areas of work:

• Development and support of services responsible for delivering data from master systems and enriching them with external data;
• Automation of audit processes and benchmark measurements of 2GIS data quality.

We have a friendly team where we discuss problem-solving methods, architecture choices, and share technical and business experience. Everyone can offer ideas and express their opinion on any issue.

We keep up with the times, use the latest technologies, and are not afraid to experiment.

Most of the code for all services is written in Kotlin, but we are open to considering candidates who have written in Java and have a strong desire to try something new.

Responsibilities

• Development and optimization of algorithms for benchmarks, measurements, and processing of various data slices, including cartographic data;
• Code refactoring and performance improvement of services and calculations;
• Solving creative and research tasks, searching for non-standard approaches;
• Development of new services and expansion of existing functionality;
• Ensuring stable service operation, participation in Code Review.

Requirements

• Desire to grow in product development and launch interesting features;
• Skills in decomposing business tasks into technical ones, ability to estimate implementation timelines and quality;
• Argumentation in decision-making and making suggestions;
• Ability to identify and minimize technical risks;
• Willingness to work in different project management formats (from classic planning to Agile);
• Knowledge of OOP and SOLID principles;
• Experience in writing maintainable, structured, and scalable code;
• Experience in refactoring and code optimization;
• Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with complex queries;
• Experience in team development, interaction with adjacent teams;
• Experience in writing unit and functional tests.

Technical Experience:

• Experience writing in Kotlin or Java/C#/Scala/etc.;
• Experience with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse;
• Experience with geo-data (PostGIS/JTS) or a strong desire to quickly learn;
• Experience with Kafka;
• Experience with Storage;
• Experience with Docker and K8s;
• Experience using version control systems (Git);
• Experience writing multithreaded applications.
