Hybrid Cloud / DevOps Engineer (Software Background)
Company: A British technology leader in the CleanTech sector. They develop unique energy storage systems and software for their integration into power grids.
The project is scaling with the support of major global investors (Goldman Sachs, Rio Tinto) and combines high-load software, ML-forecasts, and real physical installations.
Location: Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a hybrid environment combining AWS and On-prem resources.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code on AWS CDK (TypeScript).
- Administer high-load PostgreSQL and Kafka clusters, ensuring uninterrupted data flow.
- Optimize Kubernetes (EKS) performance and automate processes using Ansible.
- Support high-performance computing (HPC) environments for ML algorithms.
Requirements:
- ! Engineering background: Experience in industrial development (Java, Rust, C++, Go, Python, or another language). Understanding of code and algorithms is important.
- Expertise in AWS (having a certificate will be a significant plus).
- Experience with hybrid environments (Cloud + Bare-metal).
- Skills in administering databases and data streaming systems (Kafka).
- Linux Power User level and excellent knowledge of network protocols.
- Good English for communication with an international team.
- Willingness to take full responsibility for the stability and development of systems.
