Principal Applied AI Researcher

Company: KA Lucky Hunter Format: full-time (outside RF/RB) Location: Amsterdam or London. Remote EU is considered, relocation assistance is provided. Salary Range: €120K–200K per year, negotiable

There are tasks that cannot be solved by improving the existing. They have to be invented from scratch.

Our client is creating a new type of search — not for humans, but for AI agents. An agent doesn't click on links or choose from a list of results. It must understand information, verify it, use it for reasoning, and make decisions. This means we need to rethink the very architecture of search: what constitutes a good answer, how to measure system quality, and how to build retrieval for the world of AI agents.

This is exactly what the Principal Applied AI Researcher 💫 will be responsible for.

🧠 Responsibilities: — Designing AI-native retrieval, reasoning, and quality evaluation systems — Creating systems where agents search, verify, and use information from the web in real-time — Developing evaluation methodologies and new quality metrics — Making key technical and product decisions in the direction of agent-native search — Translating research ideas into production systems — Working side-by-side with search, ML, and infrastructure teams

🙌 What's important: — 8+ years of experience in Applied AI, ML, or Software Engineering — Experience launching ML/AI systems into production — Mandatory experience in designing and developing systems in one of the following areas: recommendation, personalization, ranking, search, ads, marketplaces, or feed systems — Python is mandatory, knowledge of Go, C++, Rust, or Java will be an advantage — Fluent English

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this role is not the technologies you'll work with, but the questions for which there are no ready-made answers yet. If you are interested in finding these answers together with one of the strongest AI teams, write to karinakava
