__tl;dr: Senior ML Engineers (TTS or ASR), Python / C++, $80k-150k/year + equity, remote
Are you also annoyed that everyone in Russian cinema mumbles so much you might as well turn on subtitles? Soon, they'll be able to dub them properly 🎞
Actually, Palabra is developing AI for synchronized translation of calls, streams, and webinars that preserves the original voice. But who's stopping us?
🐗 There's money, we're talking seven figures. Specifically — $8.4M pre-seed; investors include the fund of Reddit's co-founder, the former product lead at DeepMind, and an early backer of ElevenLabs.
🔉 What a TTS Engineer does:
‣ Trains its own TTS model on H100 clusters; ‣ Develops zero-shot voice cloning between languages; ‣ Reduces streaming latency for realtime translation (recently the model was #1 in minimum latency, now #2 in synthesis speed).
🎤 What an ASR Engineer does:
‣ Builds speech-to-text models; ‣ Improves the speech-to-speech translation pipeline.
Both are expected to have:
🧙+ years of experience as an ML engineer (specifically for TTS, 3+ years in speech tech is important); 💅 Hands-on experience with LLMs; 🎓 A degree in CS or a related field.
They promise $80k-150k/year + equity, remote, but if you are in Russia / Belarus, they will help with relocation.
