About Ciliz — a game studio founded in 2006 in St. Petersburg. We create online games and services used daily by millions of people worldwide. Our mission is to connect people through lighthearted game communication, everywhere.
We are currently looking for a Frontend Developer for our flagship near-game project focused on dating and communication (DAU 500K).
This is a large, mature product that runs on various platforms and devices. The client-side is at the intersection of frontend development and 2D GameDev: the main logic and interfaces are implemented in TypeScript and React, and the game part is in PixiJS.
We are ready to offer you the following tasks:
- work on the client-side of a high-load web application;
- development of client-server interaction, including via WebSockets;
- searching for and fixing bugs, testing implemented changes;
- participation in discussions of technical solutions and product architecture development;
- working with graphics and animations;
- performance optimization of the client-side on different devices and platforms;
- systematic work with technical debt.
Project Technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, CSS3, HTML5, WebSockets, WebGL, PixiJS, Spine.
What's important to us:
- strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript;
- experience in React development and a good understanding of its principles;
- experience with WebSockets;
- game development experience — commercial or pet projects;
- understanding of basic design patterns, ability to understand existing architecture and large codebases;
- ability to justify your point of view to other experienced developers and negotiate with colleagues in related fields.
A big plus would be:
- experience with PixiJS or other 2D game frameworks / engines;
- experience in developing and debugging web applications in WebView and on mobile devices;
- experience working with products for multiple platforms and browser environments.
