About the Company and Project
Wiregate creates and develops digital products for international clients. We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join the team of a client with whom we have been collaborating for over 10 years.
You will be working on several products for one client using PHP/Laravel and React. The main focus will be on backend development, complex business logic, and integrations, as well as developing existing systems and improving architecture. Additionally, there will be tasks related to new functionalities and business process automation.
Responsibilities
- Develop the backend using PHP/Laravel and the frontend using React. The approximate task distribution will be 70% backend and 30% frontend.
- Understand the business logic of the products, clarify requirements, and assess the impact of technical changes.
- Develop the existing codebase, work with legacy code, and gradually improve the architecture without disrupting the operation of current products.
- Design REST APIs and integrations with third-party services.
- Develop reusable solutions, including white-label approaches, to accelerate the launch of new websites and marketing offers.
- Improve administrative tools that allow the client to independently manage business settings with necessary control and logging.
- Work with performance, caching, queues, and background tasks.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, production issue diagnostics, and improvement of engineering processes.
- Estimate and decompose tasks, identify risks, discuss technical solutions with the client, and deliver tasks to production.
- The project is dynamic: priorities are clarified daily, so it's important to be able to switch between tasks and adapt to changing requests.
Technology Stack
- Backend: PHP, Laravel.
- Frontend: React; existing parts of the system also use jQuery.
- Databases: PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Caching and background tasks: Redis, queues.
- Tools: Git, Docker, Linux, CI/CD.
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes and cloud services will be an advantage.
What We Expect
- Strong practical experience in commercial development with PHP/Laravel and working experience with React.
- Experience in designing web applications, REST APIs, and integrations.
- Ability to understand complex subject areas, independently clarify requirements, and consider the impact of changes on the system.
- Experience with databases, query optimization, caching, and background tasks.
- Confident work with Git, Docker, Linux, and understanding of CI/CD.
- Understanding of testing practices, code review, logging, and production issue diagnostics.
- Ability to safely develop legacy code while maintaining system reliability and maintainability.
- Independence, initiative, and readiness to take responsibility for technical results.
- Meaningful use of AI tools for development, testing, code review, and automation.
- High-level English: necessary to communicate freely with the client, discuss requirements, and argue technical solutions.
- Fluent Russian for daily communication within the team.
Experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or architectural responsibility will be an advantage. We are also considering a strong Senior Developer who is ready to gradually expand their technical responsibilities and grow towards Tech Lead over time.
