💡 THE ROLE

We are looking for a self-directed Senior Cloud Cost Optimisation Engineer to join a large-scale data engineering programme. You will take full ownership of cost investigations across AWS & Azure — identifying waste, driving reductions, and owning outcomes from discovery to delivery.

⚙️ WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Independently identify & prioritise cost optimisation opportunities
• Deep-dive analysis: compute, storage, data pipelines, managed services
• Build evidence-based recommendations for technical & business stakeholders
• Own initiatives end-to-end → from discovery to realised savings
• Track & report savings with rigour

✅ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Technical:

• 5+ years in cloud or data engineering (cost focus required)
• Deep AWS + Azure billing models & cost tooling
• Data platform architecture: pipeline design, storage tiering, compute choices
• Python / SQL for cost analysis & automation
• Cost controls & governance at scale

Soft Skills (key differentiator):

• Operates independently — no hand-holding
• Engages engineers, leads, and client managers confidently
• Translates technical findings into business impact
