About the company:
VAMI is building an AI-native commerce platform for DTC businesses with a subscription model. The project is funded by founders who have built a portfolio of e-commerce companies with an annual revenue of $100M+. A small engineering team and the opportunity to directly influence product architecture.
Responsibilities:
• Development of payment infrastructure: orchestration and routing between providers and MID. • Implementation of card vault, tokenization, and secure card handling. • Setting up recurring payments, rebilling, retries, and double-charge protection. • Connecting acquirers/PSPs and bringing solutions to production.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of commercial backend development, strong experience in Go or Node.js/TypeScript. • Practical experience with payment orchestration and card tokenization. • Understanding of PCI DSS and secure handling of card data. • Experience with multiple PSPs/acquirers, recurring payments, decline handling, and idempotency. • Startup experience and independent task management from solution to launch. • Daily use of coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, or similar). • Very advanced English for communication with an international team and founders.
Will be a plus:
• Network tokens, account updater. • Experience with high-risk/continuity payments and physical goods payments.
