CTO / Head of Engineering

Position: CTO / Head of Engineering (Kazakhstan, IT Space Apps) Company: IT Space Apps / Tez Taxi project City: Almaty Employment: offline Compensation: 2 million KZT (we also consider the candidate's desired salary)

IT Space apps company, developing mobile applications tez taxi, tez driver. On the market for 4 years already, launched in the cities of Atyrau, Kokshetau, Turkestan, Kyzylorda.

Teztaxi is a mobile application for ordering taxis developed by IT Space Apps.

The service is focused on user convenience and driver efficiency, offering a modern solution for urban mobility.

The project is a Kazakhstani product and is successfully developing in the local market. The company has been a resident of Astana Hub for over three years, which confirms its stability and technological expertise.

Currently, the service is launched in four cities of Kazakhstan:

Atyrau Kyzylorda Kokshetau Turkestan

The company continues to scale and plans further expansion of its geographic presence. Job description: Position: CTO (Chief Technology Officer) Role Objective: Ensuring a stable, scalable, and fault-tolerant product architecture for the company, designed for growing load and user base (highload environment, from 1000+ RPS).

Technology Stack: • Backend: solid experience with Golang • Frontend / Mobile: experience or understanding of Flutter • Understanding of the connection: • backend ↔️ mobile ↔️ API ↔️ infrastructure • Working with databases: • PostgreSQL • PostGIS (desirable)

Key Requirements

1. Architecture and Scaling • Experience in designing highload systems (from 1000 RPS and above) • Ability to build a long-term technical vision • Planning architectural changes 6–12 months in advance • Understanding how the system will behave with a manifold increase in users • Experience in building: microservices architecture, fault-tolerant and scalable systems • Knowledge of approaches: horizontal scaling, caching, queues, load balancing ⸻
2. Mobile Expertise • Understanding how mobile applications work in the background (background mode) • Experience in designing the interaction between the mobile client and the server ⸻
3. Development Management • Ability to decompose tasks and assign them to team leads • Building development processes (Agile / Scrum / Kanban - not critical, results matter) • Controlling deadlines and quality of implementation • Experience in managing development teams (backend, mobile) • Interaction with product and business teams ⸻
4. Risk Management & Production Thinking • Ability to assess technical risks before going to production • Predicting bottlenecks when choosing a tech stack • Experience with production incidents and their prevention ⸻
5. Team Hiring and Development • Ability to conduct technical interviews for any position (backend, mobile, DevOps) • Assessing candidate levels (junior → senior) • Experience in training and mentoring juniors • Developing team leads
