Backend Developer for the Tech Platform Team

Our team creates and develops infrastructure for finding performers (drivers/couriers) on the technological platform that supports transportation and e-commerce services. The orders from Yandex Food, Taxi, Lavka, and Delivery are processed on our base.

Finding a performer is a key task for any service-on-demand, which is why we pay special attention to the system's fault tolerance and scalability. We implement basic scenarios and provide mechanisms for integrating modules and services developed by other teams under our supervision. Furthermore, we actively help other teams optimize their extensions and improve their fault tolerance.

What tasks await you

Working with high-load services You will work with some of the most critical and heavily loaded services in the business group, which handle hundreds of thousands of active performers with hundreds of parameters from dozens of sources. You will also have to integrate the road graph and perform searches on it.

Optimization and improving fault tolerance You will handle a constant flow of tasks to optimize and improve system fault tolerance, as the company is continuously growing and demands readiness for new challenges.

Coordinating protocols and extensions You will coordinate protocols and extensions with colleagues from other departments, review and optimize the decisions made.

Quality priority In our work, we focus on high quality, even when having to choose between speed, cost, and quality.

We expect you to

• Be ready to develop in C++20
• Be able to select the optimal algorithm for solving problems
• Understand the cost of various operations (memory copying, mutex locking, reading from disk, network calls, etc.)
• Know the fundamentals of multithreaded application development
• Have a general understanding of databases and the benefit (harm) of indexes in them
