Uzum is a new, unique company in Uzbekistan, the country's first technological ecosystem of services. We are developing several high-tech products simultaneously to provide millions of residents with access to an unlimited assortment of goods with fast delivery, as well as financial services that help solve everyday tasks and develop businesses. We are building our own IT platform, developing a logistics system, and attracting hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs. Uzum Bank is a key product of Uzum's digital services in Uzbekistan, offering users the full spectrum of banking services. We are growing rapidly, conquering the market, and are looking for Android developers for our mobile domain.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the Android part of the bank's card scenarios: card issuance and management, delivery, ATMs, card terminals, and related customer journeys.
- Bring changes to a stable release: from requirement analysis and client logic to testing, rollout, monitoring, and post-release issue resolution.
- Increase the reliability of the Android application: reduce crash rate, ANRs, regressions, and the number of urgent fixes after release.
- Develop the existing Android project: modularity, legacy code, architecture, UI, and addressing technical debt.
- Participate in product task development with product managers, system analysts, backend, iOS, and QA teams.
- Develop and maintain the Android part of card scenarios: card issuance, card management, delivery, ATMs, and card terminals.
- Participate in task refinement before development: clarify requirements with product managers, analysts, designers, backend, iOS, and QA teams.
- Design the client-side of features: UI, states, errors, edge cases, local logic, and API integration.
- Decompose and estimate tasks, participate in technical discussions and solution approvals.
- Maintain the quality of existing code: code review, refactoring, working with legacy code and technical debt.
- Participate in the release cycle: preparation, stabilization, change verification, analysis of issues after rollout.
- Analyze crashes, errors, and incidents in the Android application, identify clear causes, and implement fixes.
Must-haves:
- Proficient Kotlin development: language, standard library, and clear code structure.
- Experience with Android architecture: MVVM, Clean Architecture, separation of UI, domain, and data layers.
- Proficient work with Coroutines, Flow, and Android Jetpack: Lifecycle, ViewModel, Navigation, Room.
- Experience integrating with backend APIs: Retrofit, OkHttp, error handling, model mapping, caching, and maintaining contract backward compatibility.
- Experience working with a large, multi-module Android project.
Would be a plus:
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and gradual migration of screens to the new UI approach.
- Experience in FinTech: cards, payments, processing, transfers, banking products.
- Experience with Firebase, Gradle, CI/CD, UI tests, Marathon, Detekt, or ktlint.
