We are looking for someone who wants to build a product with us.
VC.DC is a platform where startups find talented people, and people find teams they genuinely want to work with. We are in the early stages: the product already exists and is usable, but there is still a lot of work ahead. We are currently looking for an engineer who can significantly influence the future of VC.DC.
What you will be doing Primarily, you will be developing the product itself and enhancing the user experience: making the interface more convenient, understandable, and beautiful; transforming designs and ideas into working pages; identifying areas where users face difficulties and proposing solutions; working on responsiveness, animations, and interface details; developing the existing product, not just completing ready-made tasks; gradually taking full responsibility for specific parts of the product. You won't be in a situation where you're always given a perfectly prepared mockup and detailed technical specifications.
Sometimes a task might sound like this: "This screen looks weird and is inconvenient to use. Let's make it better." We need someone who enjoys this kind of challenge.
Who we are looking for For us, the specific tech stack, years of experience, or the Senior/Middle/Junior title on a resume are not critical. Much more important are: the desire to join an early-stage startup, interest in creating a real product, good taste in interfaces, attention to detail, the ability to independently understand unfamiliar code, the desire to propose solutions rather than just complete tasks, and the readiness to learn quickly and use modern tools, including AI.
If you are not yet a very experienced developer, but you can look at an interface and say: "It's inconvenient to use it like this. I would do it this way" — and then actually implement it, we are already interested in getting to know you.
Technologies: The tech stack is not a selection criterion for us. If you have worked with JavaScript / TypeScript, React, Vue, Next.js, CSS, API — great. If you have worked with a different stack but are willing to learn — that's fine too. The result is more important.
Why it might be interesting now VC.DC is at a stage where a new engineer can still significantly influence the product. Not just closing tasks from the backlog, but participating in decisions: how the product should look, how it should work, and how the first thousands of users will see it. We are building a platform for people who want to join startups at an early stage. And now we are looking for such a person for our own team. In our team, we offer payment in company options.
Want to give it a try? Show us what you can do in any way that's convenient for you: GitHub, your own project, a website or application you've built, a small piece of code, or simply write why you are interested in joining VC.DC.
Experience and a perfect resume are not required. We are much more interested in seeing what you can do and how you think.
