Engineering Manager (ML)

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end data pipeline for the catalog: ingestion, ML-enrichment, moderation, and publishing with SLAs for freshness and quality. • Lead the ML roadmap for catalogue intelligence: categories, attribute extraction, translation, embeddings, and recommendations. • Manage large cross-team projects and bring solutions to production. • Participate in quarterly planning and define OKRs for catalog quality and personalization. • Build and maintain an evaluation and labeling infrastructure to validate model changes before production. • Manage technical debt, incidents, and team development (hiring, performance reviews, motivation).

Requirements:

• 6+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in production ML (NLP, LLM, embeddings, or large-scale classification). • 2+ years in an Engineering Manager or ML Team Lead role in a fast-growing e-commerce/marketplace/fintech company. • Hands-on experience launching LLM products: prompt/pipeline design, fine-tuning, evaluation, cost and latency control, self-hosted and API models. • Experience building and operating large data/ML pipelines (batch and streaming) with observability and reproducibility. • Solid backend fundamentals; comfortable reading and reviewing Go and Python services, understanding distributed systems. • Proficient in ML evaluation: golden datasets, labeling workflows, offline metrics, and A/B tests; English B2+.

Will be a plus:

• Experience with product catalogs, PIM, or marketplace content moderation. • Experience with Arabic content. • Familiarity with data residency requirements and regulations.
