Looking for a strong UE5 developer / gameplay systems developer for the indie project Paleolith on a part-time and revenue share basis.
Paleolith is a realistic single-player survival game set in the Stone Age. We are creating survival without the usual genre abstractions: no conventional inventory or crafting menu, with physical interactions, manual crafting, weather, humidity, smells, hunting, and interconnected survival systems.
The game has been in development since 2024. There is a large existing UE5 project, a working build, and an already implemented set of related gameplay systems. The game already has initial confirmed audience interest — Steam wishlists, playtest applications, organic interest from the survival community, and publications in gaming media. We are currently working on a public demo.
We are looking for a strong developer who can:
Experience with the following is particularly relevant:
Experience with save/load, AI, profiling, and optimization is useful. Experience with technical and procedural character animation in UE5: AnimBP, IK, Control Rig, ALS, or similar systems will be an additional plus.
The project already has a senior generalist/tech lead, a UE developer, QA, game design, sound, and PR. We are looking for an independent, strong developer who can take on major gameplay areas and develop them together with the team.
