Lead Backend Node.js Developer

We are TrendTech, a product IT company that develops products for the real estate market in Russia and abroad.

Five years ago, we started as an R&D center, and today we are a dynamic and independent business.

We are an accredited IT company and a Skolkovo participant.

With the help of the IT platforms we develop, apartments worth over 50 billion rubles are sold monthly (according to an internal study on the amount of concluded agreements with Developers thanks to the TrendAgent and TrendRealty platforms).

Our goal is to create digital tools that will allow us to transfer all stages of choosing and acquiring real estate to an online format.

We implement and develop products for B2B and B2C markets:

1. TrendAgent — a platform for automating work for professionals, which allows offering a huge number of apartments from Developers, as well as working effectively with clients thanks to a large number of advanced online tools.

2. TrendRealty— a platform that allows clients to find detailed information about apartments for sale through implemented technological solutions and operational interaction with a large number of specialists online.

We are creating an online space that unites all real estate market players — developers, banks, insurance companies, real estate agencies, sellers, and buyers. This is not another advertising platform with duplicate listings or a website that imposes mortgages from specific banks on you. This is a fundamentally new product for the real estate market, where market participants interact with each other in a transparent digital environment. Our monetization model is based on transaction volume, not advertising.

The real estate market share in Saint Petersburg has already reached 50% (based on information received from construction companies: LSR Group, PIK, CDS, FSK, A101, etc.), and the number of users is increasing monthly.

Our stack:

• Backend: TypeScript/ NestJS; there is a small number of old applications in JavaScript/Express, which are actively being rewritten;
• Databases: MongoDB, Redis; ClickHouse, Postgres for analytics;
• Message brokers: RabbitMQ;
• Containerization/orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a distributed team of backend engineers, as well as participating in hiring new ones;
• Building and scaling engineering processes within the division: initiating improvements, formalizing best practices, implementing development standards;
• Being responsible for the technical development of the division: forming an architectural vision and ensuring its implementation;
• Collaborating with the CTO to define key technical solutions and independently designing the architecture of complex modules;
• Taking on the most critical tasks: connecting to complex parts of the system, stabilizing releases, and enhancing solution fault tolerance;
• Participating in the formation and implementation of the division's annual roadmap, influencing priorities and product development strategy;
• Leading incident reviews: organizing investigations, identifying systemic causes, and implementing preventive measures.

What we expect from you:

• Experience in a similar position (Lead Backend) for at least 5 years;
• Experience working with Node.js for at least 5 years;
• Experience managing a distributed team of 20+ developers;
• Experience in systematically improving divisional processes;
• Experience in designing the architecture of complex system modules, etc.
