DevOps Engineer Wanted
We are looking for a DevOps engineer who is ready to take on the infrastructure in its entirety — from purchasing hardware and setting up VPS to hardening, VPN, and stable production deployment.
We need not a person in the format of "set up CI and forget it", but an engineer who understands how servers, networks, security, and production work, and is ready to be systematically responsible for the infrastructure. ** ▪️ What you will be doing** ▫️ Select and purchase servers/VPS for tasks. ▫️ Commission servers. ▫️ Maintain the infrastructure in working condition. ▫️ Work with Docker images, networks, and volumes. ▫️ Configure deployment and rollback. ▫️ Organize storage and viewing of logs. ▫️ Ensure containers are isolated and do not create unnecessary risks. ▫️ Work with AWS without excessive "cloud magic": ▫️ Configure secure SSH access. ▫️ Configure firewall. ▫️ Keep packages and OS up-to-date. ▫️ Conduct basic infrastructure audits. ▫️ TLS / SSL. ▫️ DNS. ▫️ Reverse proxy. ▫️ Separation of public and administrative networks. ▫️ Backups. ▫️ Document the infrastructure:

▫️ Linux
• systemd;
• networking;
• disks and file systems;
• users and permissions;
• packages;
• problem diagnostics.
▫️ Docker
Not just docker compose up on a laptop, but real production operation.
▫️ WireGuard / VPN
Understanding:
• keys;
• routes;
• peers;
• split access;
• network segmentation.
☁️ AWS
Minimum:
• EC2;
• VPC / networking;
• IAM;
• S3.
▫️ Terraform / CloudFormation — a big plus, but not a mandatory filter.
▫️ Hardening
Understanding of basic server security:
▪️ Will be a big plus ▫️ Caddy / Nginx ▫️ CI/CD — GitHub Actions / GitLab CI ▫️ GHCR ▫️ Experience with multiple VPS ▫️ Separation of app / edge ▫️ Separate administrative network ▫️ PostgreSQL from an operational perspective:
▪️ We need an engineer who: ▫️ is not afraid of production; ▫️ knows how to independently troubleshoot problems; ▫️ understands the consequences of their changes; ▫️ thinks about security in advance; ▫️ dislikes manual routine and automates it; ▫️ knows how to explain to developers why something is insecure and offer a normal solution; ▫️ is capable of looking at the infrastructure as a whole, not just a separate Docker container.
