REMOTE GLOBAL | UX FEEDBACK
Hi!
We are the UX Feedback team, an accredited IT company and a B2B SaaS platform that helps companies truly hear their users. Every day, our clients turn the 'Voice of The Customer' into clear insights and actionable solutions using our products.
Major Russian companies work with us: Yandex, Avito, CIAN, HH, M.Video, SberMegaMarket, Leroy Merlin, Sportmaster, TELE2, QIWI, S7, Aviasales, PIK, and many others.
About the position
We are currently looking for a Technical Manager to join our team, someone who genuinely loves technology and architecture. You are interested in how a product works 'under the hood': how a user's response travels from a widget on a client's website to a dashboard, where the system will hit its limits if a major client doubles traffic tomorrow, why data updates instantly in one place but with a delay in another. You see the system as a whole and notice how one decision leads to another.
We want to move from manual management to systematic work. The team does a lot, and it needs someone who maintains the overall context and helps not to lose sight of important things. It's important that goals are set together with the team, that progress towards them is visible, and if something goes wrong, the plan can be calmly reassembled without emergencies.
Technical decisions are made by engineers here. Your task is to ensure that these decisions are made on time and lead to results, rather than getting stuck halfway.
The team includes a frontend lead, 4 backend developers, 2 QA engineers, and an architectural lead. Mobile development is connected on a part-time basis.
We also need someone to whom product and project managers can come with the question 'can we actually do this?' and get an honest answer: yes or no, how long it will take, what it will cost, and what the obstacles are.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks:
— Lead the team's technical goals from initiation to completion
— Be responsible for the platform's availability, stability, security, and infrastructure costs
— Plan technical work in sync with product development so that business goals are not hindered by technical limitations
— Manage the team: 1:1s, hiring, people development, workload distribution — sometimes through leads, sometimes directly
— Act as the technical point of contact for product, project, and clients: can we do it, what's the cost, what's blocking it
— Lead major technical initiatives
Priority Tasks for the First 3 Months:
— Create a map of the technical landscape across all areas: what's in progress, where are the fragile spots and technical debt, what's stagnant
— Align this map with product plans and agree with product and project managers on what is critical and what can be postponed
— Identify 2–3 key technical goals and plan them together with leads, product, and project managers
— Take over current initiatives and bring 2–3 of them to a clear result
— Establish regular 1:1s with leads and engineers
— Take charge of managing part-time mobile development
Requirements
— At least 3 years of experience managing an engineering team of 5 or more people, including hiring and firing
— Experience in commercial development and understanding of the entire stack: front, back, databases, queues, infrastructure. You don't need to write code, but you do need to analyze engineers' ideas on their merits
— Experience transitioning a team to predictable work with measurable results
— Experience in planning through decomposition and comparing plan versus actual
— Experience in prioritizing technical debt based on its impact on the product: what to do now and what can wait
Experience is a plus in:
— Working with Python, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse
— Migrating a stack or platform with a large volume of data
— Working with clouds and operations
— Working with embedded products (SDK, widgets)
— Implementing AI tools in team workflows
Personal Qualities
— Responsibility for the final result: see things through to a point where it's clear whether it worked or not, and what's next
— Initiative: proactively identify areas for improvement and implement changes, rather than waiting for a problem to become a crisis
— Ability to hold your ground: argue with engineers on substance without making decisions for them
— Teamwork: collaborate with product and project managers to solve problems together, not just get approvals
— Attentiveness to people: notice problems early — by observing how a person behaves in 1:1s and in their work, not when they are already burnt out
Conditions
— Remote work format from anywhere in the world
— Employment according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation in an accredited IT company. Payment in rubles to Russian accounts — we are upfront about this to save everyone time
— Annual training grant — 30,000 ₽
— Team meetups in co-working spaces in various cities, summer gatherings, and hikes
— Honesty and openness within the company, transparency of goals and processes
— Real impact: major technical initiatives and priority setting in collaboration with product, not according to a top-down plan
— A cohesive team we are proud of: we know how to work and relax together
— Flexibility in organizing your time while respecting common agreements and goals
— Opportunity to change and develop the research and user experience industry with us
About the Recruitment Process
— HR Interview — we get to know each other
— Case Study Interview — we discuss how you handle the technical aspects of a product, deadlines, and priorities
— Final meeting with the team
