Backend Developer for the Pro Tech Platform Team

Yandex Pro helps drivers, couriers, and assemblers work with Yandex services in Russia and abroad: accept orders, track earnings, pass quality checks. Our team develops the platform used not only by Taxi but also by other businesses: Food, Lavka (Store), Delivery. We develop platform solutions for product teams, for example, tools for working with BDUI, an event delivery bus, an AI assistant for drivers, and others.

Your responsibilities will include

• Developing platform solutions that will be used by product teams of Taxi and other Ride Tech businesses
• Conducting research and implementing technical solutions, for example, client-server gRPC
• Taking on serious technical challenges, even for experienced developers

Tech Stack

• C++20, Go, Kotlin — depending on the service, Python (for tests and scripts)
• SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB)
• Vulnerability detection systems (virtual orders, chaos engineering, -1DC)
• Monitoring systems, diagnostics, high-quality CI/CD tools

What tasks await you

Development of a short-lived event delivery bus to the client You will need to rework the event delivery bus to the mobile client via a push+pull model for a new architecture using in-memory storage to improve service reliability and meet new technical requirements.

Development of the BDUI framework Our team develops the BDUI platform — a solution where mobile developers can write UI elements on the backend and send them to the mobile client, eliminating the need to wait for a new app version. You will work on developing integration with the localization service, designing a scaling scheme for other domains.

Creating context in the AI assistant chat for drivers We are building a solution that allows a driver to quickly get answers to key questions via chat, understand how to earn more money. For this, driver data — product context — needs to be integrated into the interaction with the LLM model.

• Have sufficient C++ knowledge for development
• Are ready for research and designing architecture for complex microservice systems
• Can analytically solve complex technical problems and propose unconventional solutions
• Want to solve technically complex tasks
• For you, a programming language is a tool, and you are ready to choose and apply the right one as needed

It will be a plus if you

• Have developed fault-tolerant systems
• Understand the principles of building distributed, highly available systems
• Have developed solutions to improve the developer experience
