What's important in a candidate:
- hands-on engineer: you can show that you built something with your own hands in the last 6 months;
- experience with a production system and paying clients, where you were personally responsible for its operability;
- quickly understand someone else's code and architecture, work through staging, tests, rollback;
- calculate cost price at the component level and understand how telephony / ASR / TTS / LLM affect margin;
- co-owner mindset: delve into economics, sales, and unit economics, bring bad news early and with solutions;
- tech stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, open-source LLM (Llama, Qwen, GLM), telephony / SIP, ASR / TTS; Claude Code / Cursor — an essential part of the process.
Will be a plus:
- experience with voice agents.
