Title: Data Scientist Company: Arrive Location: Chișinău / Hybrid / Remote

We’ve signed up to an ambitious journey. Join us!

As Arrive, we guide customers and communities towards brighter futures and more livable cities, it isn’t a challenge just anyone could take on. Luckily, we have something to help us make it happen. Our people and our values. We Arrive Curious, Focused and Together. Just as our entire brand is inspired by the North Star, the shining light leading travelers to their destinations since time began, our values guide us. They help us be at our best. For our customers. For the cities and communities we serve. For ourselves. As a global team, we are transforming urban mobility. Let’s grow better, together.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will be a valued technical contributor in our Data Science Products team and in the Data, Analytics and AI organisation of Arrive. The Data Science Products team ingests billions of complex sensor data points daily to produce advanced machine learning products that help millions of drivers park or charge electric vehicles. For example, we predict the availability of parking in cities across the world and provide drivers with routes that reduce the time they will spend searching for a space near their destination.

This is a data science role focused on building and improving production modelling products. We are looking for a skilled data scientist who combines strong mathematical foundations with the ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. You will contribute to our modelling approaches and work closely with data scientists and engineers to follow good technical practice.

How to make an impact

• Develop New Products: Contribute to projects that solve business challenges relevant to parking, EV charging, and journey routing. This includes conducting in-depth analysis of new data sources, and researching, implementing and testing potential modelling approaches.
• Enhance Existing Products: Build on products already in production, improving their performance through iterative development and rigorous experimentation.
• Ship Production-Quality Code: Write high-quality code and contribute to the pipelines in our production codebase, deploying scalable products in collaboration with our engineers.
• Advance Modelling Practices: Develop new skills and enhance our services and ways of working by researching and implementing relevant approaches or technologies, particularly around statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate Across the Team: Be a great member of the team - while the work involves a good degree of autonomy, we value collaborating with and supporting colleagues across Data Science, Analytics and Engineering.

About you

You are a collaborative data scientist who takes pride in delivering real value to customers through well-built, well-reasoned products. You enjoy tackling complex, ambiguous problems with creative solutions while maintaining rigour in your mathematical and statistical approach. You are passionate about building robust, production-grade models and value working in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

Your background

• Minimum of 2 years professional experience, including building statistical or machine learning products in a commercial setting (preferably being involved in their deployment).
• Strong mathematical and theoretical skills, especially probability theory, such as from an MSc or a highly mathematical undergraduate degree.
• An ability to understand complex problems and find creative solutions.
• Proficient in Python with good knowledge of the Python data science ecosystem (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn).
• Good knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques, and experience using relevant tools.
• Good software engineering practices.

Nice to have:

• Background in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), or experience working with geospatial data and relevant Python packages (e.g. GeoPandas)
• Large data sets and big data tools (ideally PySpark)
• Cloud computing environments (e.g. AWS)

This is a hybrid role based in Chișinău, Moldova.
