We are IBS.** A leading Russian system integrator, a developer of digital solutions for major companies and the public sector.

You will join a team working on a project for one of the oldest and largest management companies in Russia (over 25 years in the market, founder of the domestic asset management industry). The company provides clients with a wide range of investment opportunities in mutual funds and trust management strategies.

You will be working on a backend-oriented system (95% backend), where the key task is automating REST API testing and in-depth work with databases. The project requires a strong technical background and confident command of Java + SQL.

What you will be doing (responsibilities)

• Supporting and developing automated testing tools using Java.
• Designing and developing test scenarios and test data sets.
• Covering new and existing functionality with automated tests.
• Automating REST API testing (priority over UI testing).
• Analyzing autotest results and subsequently creating defects in the bug tracking system.
• Compiling testing-related documentation.
• Actively interacting with the development and engineering team.

What we require (competencies)

Experience: from 1 year of automation (Java) + from 1 year of manual functional testing. Total experience from 2 years (including 1 year of manual functional testing and 1 year of automated functional testing).

Mandatory skills:

• Backend experience is a key requirement (95% backend on the project).
• Good SQL level (above average) — confident query writing, working via JDBC.
• Manual functional testing experience (from 1 year).
• REST API test automation experience (more than UI).
• Automation engineer experience from 1 year using Java.
• Above-average Java automation knowledge (Java Core, OOP, working with collections, exceptions, file I/O).
• Knowledge of test design techniques (equivalence classes, boundary values, pairwise testing, etc.).
• Web architecture knowledge (HTTP, client-server interaction, REST).
• Creating test reports using Allure.

Will be an advantage:

• UI test automation based on Selenium.
• Full Stack development experience of 2+ years.
• Using the BDD approach (Cucumber).
• Experience testing financial systems or investment platforms.
• Understanding the specifics of asset management and mutual funds.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
