Mission
At LOS YORK, we craft bold visuals that don’t just tell stories — they leave a mark. We’re a team of global nomads pushing the boundaries of design, storytelling and culture.
This Summer, we’re looking for a Motion Design Intern who lives at the intersection of motion design and visual storytelling, with a strong interest in brand, marketing, and content creation. This role sits within our Motion Design team but supports the Propaganda Department which is critical in shaping how LOS YORK and our creative campaigns show up in the world. However, there will also be an opportunity to support other creative projects in the shop.
You’ll work closely with designers, creatives and storytellers to translate finished projects into case films, social content, process stories and presentation assets that showcase the thinking, craft, and impact behind the work.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to real projects, build portfolio-worthy work and gain a behind-the-scenes look at how a creative studio packages and promotes its ideas. It’s about learning by doing, growing quickly and helping “tie the bow” on the work in a way that feels thoughtful, elevated and built to travel.
Responsibilities & Outcomes
Studio Storytelling Collaborate with our Propaganda / Marketing team to help shape how our work is positioned, presented, and shared externally.
Crafting the Case Support the creation of case films and process reels that communicate the idea, craft, and impact behind the work.
Process & Documentary Storytelling Help capture and shape the story behind our projects — translating behind-the-scenes moments, creative exploration, and studio culture into compelling visual content.
Campaign & Social Packaging Adapt and reformat finished work for social and digital platforms, ensuring each piece feels thoughtful, platform-native, and aligned with the story.
Motion That Enhances Use motion, typography, and transitions to elevate storytelling — bringing clarity, rhythm, and polish to everything you touch.
Design in Motion Apply strong fundamentals in layout, composition, and typography, and bring them to life through artful motion design.
Creative Collaboration Work alongside designers, animators, and creative leads — contributing ideas, learning from feedback, and growing within a highly collaborative team.
Make Work That Matters Contribute to real campaigns and content with real visibility — leaving with work you’re proud to share.
Core Competencies
Always Curious While your primary interest is motion design and storytelling, you’re eager to learn, experiment, and continuously level up your craft.
Tools of the Trade Familiar with After Effects and Photoshop, with a foundation in design and motion. Cinema 4D and Figma are a plus.
Culturally Aware You have a pulse on social and creative platforms — understanding what’s resonating and bringing references and ideas to the table.
Collaborate You enjoy working with others, value feedback, and understand how collaboration makes the work stronger.
Own It You take pride in your work, no matter the size of the task — approaching everything with care, curiosity, and intention.
Communication is Key You listen well, ask questions, and are comfortable working across different formats and feedback loops.
It’s About the Details You care about craft — from typography to timing to final output, the small things matter.
Creatively Driven You’re motivated to make things better, push ideas further, and grow with every project.
Good Humor You bring positive energy to the team — serious about the work, not about yourself.
