Embedded Software Verification and Manual Testing Engineer (QA)

YADRO is a Russian technology company, part of the IKS Holding, which since 2014 has been creating, producing, and supporting fundamental products for the Russian market, ranging from servers to its own base station. We are looking for a BIOS/BMC Test Engineer, where we verify component compatibility with hardware. The engineer will identify and document errors at the "Hardware-Software" interface, interact with developers, and improve product quality. Knowledge of Linux and server platforms is important.
Tasks:
- Analyze BIOS functionality requirements, develop test scenarios, and execute test plans for verifying server system firmware functionality;
- Test compatibility of hardware devices with software firmware;
- Test compatibility of server OS with firmware;
- Localize errors in both software and hardware parts and log them in the tracking system;
- Interact with development and project management teams to improve product quality;
- Interact with the functional testing automation team to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Must-Have:
- Software testing experience of 2+ years;
- Experience and knowledge of Linux OS at an administrative level: installation, configuration, administration;
- Solid knowledge of server hardware and architecture;
- Experience working with BIOS, BMC (iDRAC, iLO);
- Knowledge of network protocols and experience using test utilities for performance analysis;
- English language proficiency for reading technical documentation.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with scripting: Bash/Python;
- Experience diagnosing software-hardware server malfunctions;
- Ability to work with Git, Jira, Bitbucket;
- Experience working with programmers.
