👀 Looking for a Data Analyst (Payments), location - CET/CEST. Priority for Lisbon
About the role:
Analyst in the analytical platform team of the payment business (cloud storage, dbt, dashboards-as-code, real-time alerting in Slack). You will be responsible for the metrics journey from raw payment events to dashboards/alerts. First line of response to alerts.
Area of responsibility:
- Incident triage, root cause analysis, impact communication, fixes
- SQL for payment metrics: conversion, turnover, provider/terminal performance, pending/latency, FX-normalized reporting
- Development and support of dbt models
- Dashboards in "as code" format
- Slack alerts: thresholds, anomaly detection, reduction of false positives, runbooks
- Data reconciliation with sources (client Postgres, S3), data quality audits (duplicates, delays, timezones)
- Ad-hoc analytics upon stakeholder requests
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a data analyst / analytics engineer
- Strong SQL: window functions, CTE, incremental/partitioned processing, habit of checking results
- Experience with dbt (models, tests, docs, incremental) — strong plus, will help lead the migration to dbt; SQLMesh/Dataform + willingness to switch is also suitable
- Python for data + orchestration (Airflow/Dagster/Prefect)
- Applied statistics: A/B tests, significance vs. noise, confidence intervals
- Experience with metrics used in decision-making
- Clear written async communication
- Fluent English
Will be a plus:
- Experience in payments/fintech: PSP metrics, acquiring conversion, FX, reconciliation
- OLAP engines: DuckDB, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake
- Experience with AI agents for code (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
- TypeScript/React
- Designing alerting/monitoring for business metrics
