What's important:
- 1-3 years of experience as a business or system analyst in a product company
- aware of what idempotency, error handling, and request lifecycle are – and why production breaks without them
- understand how REST APIs, webhooks, and callbacks work – not in theory, but have hands-on experience
- have actually written BRDs/PRDs/technical specifications, not just participated in writing them
- able to work with data schemas and API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger is a big plus)
- able to draw BPMN and at least some UML (Sequence, Activity, Use Case, State Diagram)
- proficient with Jira and Confluence
- SQL at the level of "I can check a hypothesis in the data myself" without waiting for an analyst
- calmly read JSON and API technical documentation without being intimidated
