DevOps
Tez Taxi is a mobile taxi-hailing application. We are actively growing and looking for a strong DevOps engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the service deployment platform: Helm charts, GitOps via ArgoCD/Flux, CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain observability: metrics, alerts, dashboards, tracing, SLO/error budget, incident analysis, and runbooks.
- Operate PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and background queues on River/alternatives: pooling, partitioning, replication, capacity planning.
- Develop golden path templates for development teams (service creation, basic pipelines, observability, security defaults).
- Design platform capabilities: canary/blue-green deployments, autoscaling, feature flags, A/B infra, hot-reload of configurations.
- Participate in high-load tuning of latency-critical services: sharding, backpressure, rate limiting, load testing as a quality gate.
- Manage migrations from legacy systems without downtime: strangler fig, shadow/replay, parallel run, sticky routing, rollback plans.
- Improve reliability and security: secrets management, mTLS/S2S, edge/WAF, DR approaches.
- Participate in on-call rotations, write ADRs, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards.
Requirements:
- Experience operating Kubernetes in production: Helm, HPA, requests/limits, network policies.
- Practical experience with CI/CD and GitOps: GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Flux.
- Observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry/distributed tracing.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and Redis: pooling, indexing, partitioning, replication, troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Terraform, Linux, networking, and TLS.
- Experience with high-load or latency-sensitive systems: from 10k RPS, p95/p99 latency, bottleneck analysis, load testing.
- Experience designing SLO/error budgets, progressive deployments, and zero-downtime migrations.
- Understanding of IDP/platform-as-product approach.
- Ability to write ADRs, runbooks, and mentor other engineers.
Bonus points: Kafka/streaming, ClickHouse, Service mesh and mTLS, Feature-flag and experimentation infrastructure, experience building golden path platforms.

📍 Almaty, office-based work (offline).
Salary:
1,000,000 - 1,500,000.
