Vacancy: Full-stack Developer Middle+
We are looking for a full-stack developer for the MONARCH Messenger project — a multifunctional communication platform: chats, groups, channels, calls, PWA, mobile version, desktop client, push notifications, media, AI assistant, feed, profiles, admin panel, moderation, and real-time functionality.
We need someone who can not only write new features but also understand the existing codebase, fix production bugs, work with mobile browsers, real-time, backend APIs, databases, and gradually improve the architecture.
Current project stack:
React, TypeScript, Vite, React Router, TanStack Query, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, Socket.IO/WebSocket, Firebase/FCM, Web Push, PWA, Service Worker, Capacitor, Tauri, WebRTC, LiveKit, mediasoup, S3-compatible storage, Docker.
In the future, we plan to refactor the AI/backend part and potentially move some server logic to Golang.
Responsibilities:
- Develop frontend using React/TypeScript
- Support and enhance backend using Node.js/Express
- Work with chats, groups, channels, profiles, feed, calls, media, and the admin panel
- Integrate frontend with backend API and real-time events
- Work with WebSocket/Socket.IO, presence, messages, and live updates
- Fix production bugs, including issues with PWA, iOS Safari, mobile viewport, safe-area, service worker, push notifications
- Work with PostgreSQL: schemas, queries, indexes, migrations
- Work with Redis: cache, pub/sub, real-time states
- Support authorization, sessions, file uploads, media, and storage
- Participate in the development of calls/WebRTC/LiveKit/mediasoup
- Participate in refactoring AI functionality
- Design backend modules that can be moved to Go in the future
- Carefully improve the existing project without chaotic rewrites from scratch
Mandatory requirements:
- Proficient TypeScript
- Solid experience with React and modern SPAs
- Experience in Node.js backend development
- Express/Fastify/NestJS or similar backend stack
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL
- Redis or similar cache/pubsub tools
- REST API, auth, sessions/cookies, security basics
- WebSocket/Socket.IO/realtime
- Confident CSS layout, responsiveness, mobile-first approach
- Understanding of mobile browser specifics, especially iOS Safari
- Experience or understanding of PWA: manifest, service worker, install flow, cache, push, viewport, safe-area
- Ability to debug complex bugs using screenshots, logs, DevTools, Network tab, and user behavior analysis
- Experience working with a large existing codebase.
- Willingness to work with and gradually improve backend architecture
- Experience or strong readiness to write backend in Golang
