JVM Backend Developer

We are looking for a Java/Kotlin Backend Developer for a team that is developing a high-load platform with 100+ million users, 10K+ RPS, and terabytes of data daily.

What you will be doing

• Developing and evolving Java/Kotlin microservices
• Designing REST/gRPC APIs and event-driven interactions
• Working with Kafka / RabbitMQ
• Optimizing PostgreSQL and other databases: queries, indexes, caching, scaling
• Solving highload, performance, and reliability challenges
• Dealing with production incidents and technical debt
• Participating in architectural decisions and code reviews

Stack

Java / Kotlin · Spring Boot · Hibernate · Microservices · Kafka · PostgreSQL · Redis · Cassandra · ClickHouse · Kubernetes · Docker · AWS

It is not necessary to know the entire stack — a strong Java foundation and understanding of how JVM, concurrency, databases, and distributed systems work are more important.

What we offer

• Real highload, not "highload" in the job description
• Large data volumes and complex backend tasks
• Opportunity to influence architecture and technical decisions
• Strong engineering team
• Remote work from anywhere in the world or a comfortable office in Belgrade
