About the company:
We are looking for an engineer for the support and operation department of a large, high-load e-com project — an advertisement platform. The team is responsible for the stability and evolution of legacy Perl code and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Porting legacy Perl applications to modern Debian (Trixie). • Building distributions of ported applications and handing them over for operation. • Supporting and implementing CI, configuring application build systems.
Requirements:
• Deep knowledge of Perl and experience with legacy code (porting/modernization). • Experience with Debian and migrating applications between distributions. • Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and migrations (project involves a transition to MariaDB). • Knowledge of Unix tools (bash/sed/awk) and ability to work with a large internal infrastructure. • Experience with CI/CD and containerization (Docker). • Communication skills and ability to work in a team supporting a large project.
Will be a plus:
• Knowledge of Python.

Conditions:
• Rate of 280,000 RUB net (for Russian individual entrepreneur). • Location: office in Saint Petersburg (Antares Business Center); remote work is possible for strong experts. • A virtual Linux machine will be provided for work; the OS on your PC does not matter. • Project duration until the end of 2026 with a high probability of extension. • Requirement: Russian citizenship.
