Visual Storyteller

I’m looking to connect with freelance visual storytellers for current and upcoming children’s digital book projects at Lylli.

I’d love to hear from:

• Storyboard artists: strong visual storytelling, pacing, and sequential work.
• Illustrators: expressive characters and scenes that read clearly for children.
• Book designers: page layout, typography, and the relationship between words and images.
• AI assisted visual story artists: illustration judgment, AI tools, and compositing to turn scripts and existing assets into consistent book spreads.

Some projects use established characters and artwork; others require original character creation. AI assisted tools are part of some projects, particularly when adapting existing assets. Hands-on AI and compositing experience matters for the AI assisted visual story artist role. For the other roles, I’d be glad to hear how you work and whether those projects interest you. Across all four, strong storytelling judgment and work that reads clearly for children come first.

These are project-based opportunities, and your skills may span more than one area. If this sounds like your work, DM me your portfolio, the role or roles you’re interested in, and your availability. Sequential examples and process work are especially useful, portfolios over résumés.

I’m looking to work directly with freelance artists and small artist-led studios; no recruitment agencies, please.
