Product Lead (Predictions & ML) at Adapty, $75–90k/year + growth bonus, fully remote
Adapty is a subscription monetization platform for mobile apps. We process over $2B in subscription revenue annually, and more than 20,000 apps use our services. We're dividing the product into streams and are now looking for a single owner for analytics and ML.
The entire mobile advertising industry is held back by one bottleneck: revenue from an acquired user comes in over a year through subscriptions and renewals, but the decision on whether to continue spending on a channel needs to be made within a few days. This gap is closed by LTV prediction — and the accuracy of this forecast directly determines how much an app can afford to spend on growth.
We have more data for this than almost anyone else on the market: we see thousands of apps simultaneously, not just one. This means we can predict more accurately than anyone. Currently, we don't do predictions, and this is the role's task.
The domain is being built from scratch: analytics, prediction, and A/B tests are coming together under one owner for the first time. You get a clean slate for decisions on top of a product that is already generating revenue for twenty thousand applications.
What you'll do: — Define what we consider model quality — metric, horizon, baseline, calibration — and bring the prediction to that level — Take over A/B tests for paywalls and integrate them with predictions: a test measures short-term effect, but rollout should be based on long-term revenue — Boost analytics: identify bottlenecks — in data, queries, or interface — Decide the fate of accumulated ML developments: what to bring to production, what to close — Lead a team of two ML engineers
Who we're looking for: — Classic ML and mathematical statistics at a level that allows for in-depth discussion about metrics and horizons, not just repeating others' conclusions. — SQL and Python — you get and double-check the numbers yourself — The ability to take a broad direction and achieve results without being given tasks — Product experience is a plus, but not a requirement
Plus: subscriptions, mobile, or fintech (LTV, churn, cohort economics); experimental design: power, MDE, multiple comparisons; ClickHouse; Olympiads, Kaggle, public projects.
