Intern in Data Science at Avito: research work with scientific articles, reproduction of methods, implementation in Python, preparation for PoC and A/B tests.
Tasks:
- Read and analyze modern scientific articles on a given topic
- Reproduce methods from publications, work with author's code and adapt it for Avito's tasks
- Conduct offline experiments, compare approaches, analyze results
- Implement solutions in Python code
- Prepare reviews and presentations of results for the team
- Participate in the preparation of scientific papers together with the supervisor
- Work closely with DS teams to ensure research progresses to PoC and A/B tests
Requirements:
- Studying in the 2nd–4th year of a bachelor's degree, 4th–5th year of a specialist degree, or already obtained a diploma in a technical, mathematical, or IT specialty
- Ability to write research code in Python and work with ML libraries
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data handling
- Experience in research projects or writing scientific papers
- English proficiency sufficient for reading scientific articles
