Senior-Lead Data Engineer

Company: Finframe (Fintech) Format: Remote within Russia

We are looking for a Lead/Senior Data Engineer who is interested not just in supporting existing solutions, but in building a Data Platform from scratch. There will be a lot of hands-on work: launching new components, optimizing performance, developing the Lakehouse and analytical DWH. At the same time, this is a leadership role – building and developing a team, implementing development best practices, processes, and artifacts.

✅Key responsibilities:

Architecture and platform development (jointly with Data Architect):

• Designing the Data Platform architecture (DWH + Lakehouse)
• Selecting technological solutions and tools
• Participating in the development of approaches to Data Quality, lineage, and monitoring Development
• Designing, developing, and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines
• Developing data marts
• Implementing data ingestion and processing in Lakehouse
• Configuring orchestration and monitoring in Airflow
• Supporting and developing LakeHouse, DWH
• Implementing CI/CD practices for data development
• Documenting development

Team leadership and development:

• Building a Data Engineers team
• Developing competencies, development processes, code review, and implementing engineering best practices
• Planning the platform development roadmap
• Interacting with architects, analysts, and backend teams

Tech stack: S3, Iceberg, Airflow, Spark, Python, Trino, ClickHouse, Greenplum, DBT, Superset (experience with the stack is mandatory)

📌Our expectations

• Over 6 years of experience in Data Engineering / DWH / Big Data
• Experience with DBT / Airflow / Spark / object storage
• Experience designing a Data Platform or its key components
• Experience optimizing DWH or Big Data system performance
• Experience in technical leadership (lead / tech lead / player-coach)
• Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality principles
• Will be a plus: experience building a Data Platform from scratch, including an MVP
