Must-have
- Extensive experience designing, building, and operating distributed data platforms using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, and similar tools
- Proven experience working with large-scale, high-volume data systems
- Strong expertise in cloud and cloud-native data architecture, preferably on AWS and/or GCP
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and relational and columnar databases
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a modern engineering mindset
- Experience architecting distributed systems and data-intensive applications
- Proven ability to build, lead, and grow high-performing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of Agile and Lean delivery principles

- Experience interviewing, mentoring, and developing data engineers

What you will do
- Lead technical delivery on assigned customer projects, including architecture, design decisions, and hands-on contribution when needed
- Shape and develop Oxagile’s Data Engineering practice and serve as a technical leader within the Data unit
- Participate in pre-sales activities, RFPs, solution discovery, and new project acquisition
- Perform data architecture reviews, technical assessments, and platform audits
- Support hiring, interviewing, staffing, and onboarding of Data Engineers
- Build and strengthen top-performing engineering teams across both projects and the Data unit
- Mentor engineers and contribute to personal development plans and growth initiatives
- Drive internal knowledge sharing, educational programs, and engineering excellence initiatives
- Act as the go-to expert for Data-related technical decisions across the company

We are looking for a Chief Data Engineer to join us in a senior technical and leadership role. This person will work on customer-facing production projects while also playing a key role in shaping and growing our Data unit. The successful candidate will contribute to customer delivery, architecture design, technical audits, pre-sales and RFP activities, interviewing and staffing, internal education initiatives, and team development. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to combine hands-on engineering leadership with strategic influence across the company. You will become the go-to technical authority for Data-related topics at Oxagile, helping drive major decisions around data platforms, solution architecture, delivery quality, and capability development.
